“A log is a seem­ing solid object, but a wedge can even­tu­ally split it by pen­e­trat­ing a crack and grad­u­ally widen­ing the split. In this case the ide­ol­ogy of sci­en­tific mate­ri­al­ism is the appar­ently solid log.
